Music making at Spunky Monkey

Took a day off today, went on a bike ride and ended up at Spunky Monkey on NE 20th and Couch. Nice little coffee shop :) Tasty coffee, and they have art and fun toys :) I sat out on the patio in what looks like an antique beautician's chair, drank coffee and played with the cool wood block instrument. Even made a crappy recording, but for how lo-fi it is it kind of sounds neat :)

Oh dang I'll have to upload it a different way...stay tuned for music, maybe later today :)

Voodoo Too is decked out

Stopped in to Voodoo Too today: Google has a new microchip sticker on the window and they will pay for an additional voodoo doll donut for every dozen purchased! Way to throw down, Google! Word is they are buying the coffee at the downtown location, looks like I'll be stopping in there more often :D

But this post is about the Voodoo Doughnut magic! The cruller was killer as always, and the bathroom, if you haven't checked it out, is still home to one of the coolest duct tape murals ever. I don't recall many other duct tape murals, but this one is amazing regardless of the lack of competition in the field :D

Looks like they are even selling Christmas trees in the lot; take the whole family down, make it an evening! They even have quirky video games and pinball, plus a photo booth to commemorate the occasion. What charmers :D
